Hello.

Hidden Rabbit is the creative work of Iowa artist Rachel Cook.

Throughout my life I have had interest and experience in many different artistic media - painting, pottery, knitting, weaving, yarn dyeing, jewelry making, sewing, quilting, and on and on until I die. What I am working with and where my interest lies ebbs and flows over time and it is an ongoing process to be at peace with that - pushing myself to create while also allowing for the cycle of stagnation, rest, and growth.

I desperately hope that weaving will be in my future, but for now, making earrings has been the creative outlet that fits into my life (single mom with two kids, ages 6 and 9), allows me to express and learn about myself through fashion, and provides endless opportunity to explore color, shape, and texture.

I make my earrings primarily with brass charms and natural stone beads. I source vintage components when possible. My style is a combination of whimsical and elegant. And cats, everything is better with cats.
